Doc stirred his mind swimming back to consciousness, the comforting beep beep of medical equipment reassuringly familiar

“You should have incepted him at the very start,” Lalo Kai rocked back in his chair and propped his legs up on the footboard of the bed, “We could use more officially trained hara around here.”
“Ah yes, but he has managed to provide us with some interesting information and equipment Lalo, and he will come around soon enough. He’s dying and I highly doubt he will live more than a few more months. We will let him decide his fate.”
Lalo snorted, “You should just incept him. This ‘no incepting without consent’ is shit Blithe and you know it. It isn’t like we can very well send the humans back across the boarders.”
“It was what Mi…”
Lalo cut him off, “And Mitexi is dead Blithe, I loved him but he was painfully naïve at times.”
“You would do well not to speak ill of him to me Lalo Kai,” Blithe said, not bothering to hold back the venom in his voice.
“Your patient is waking up,” Lalo replied, ignoring his leader, “I’ll leave you to take care of him.” With that Lalo stood and walked out of the room.
Blithe pressed a hand against Houseman’s forehead, checking the young doctor over. He’d live, at least through this. While he had his hara keep in contact with this human he had not yet met the man (when he was conscious).
“You are lucky that Vistari trap didn’t kill you Housemen,” Blithe muttered.

The utter peace that he'd brieffly felt...was that what it was like to be wraeththu? or was it just the effect of Tavis's healing touch?
The tide of memory washed back in.
He was in a bed. In a hospital...but aside from the M.A.S.H. the only facilities were in.... a hand brushed against his forehead
Startled, he opened his eyes and tried to jerk away only to find that he felt as weak as a kitten.
A voice wispered something about a Vistari trap...
Vistari...a wave of longing washed over him, he needed to go to the Vistari, they were his future, everything would stop hurting as soon as he got there.
He tried to rise again, ready to walk blindly toward the pull inside his head.
The hand on his forehead did something...and the pull receded slightly.
"Tura...the trap..its.. some sort of compulsion. I could feel it in my mind, pulling me toward them. as soon as you said their name. That Name as a trigger..Don't...<cough> say their name near me" he pleaded weakly

Blithe rolled his eyes, the Vistari were certainly creative, “So death will be granted once you follow to the call, or at least the death of your human life. I simply must play a visit to their leader and see what advances they have made.” Blithe said, talking more to himself than to the man in the bed. With an irritated sigh Blithe probed deeper, “Just relax,” he murmured, remembering that he was dealing with a human who had not likely felt anything like this.
Blithe smiled when he found the hook from the Vistari trap, it was rather simple, although it would take a while to unravel.
“You are a lucky bastard Houseman, although nothing worse than being incepted would have come to you had you made it back to their territory in one piece.”

Doc's eyes widened in fear...he could actually 'feel' The Tura's mental touch like a gentle caress felt deep within his brain.
Then he frowned, it was almost as if he were sensing the Hara's emotions. It was the sort of emotion that a human would feel for a favourite pet dog...beloved... but destined to be shot if it bit anyone.
The tug toward The V.. The other tribe was still there, reduced by whatever The Tura had done, but not gone.
"<cough> Only inception?" he rasped cursing his weakness "Only rape, is what you mean....You think my wishes will be respected when I get there?"
Doc winced, his own words told the story. at some level he actually intended to obey that complulsion.
He paused analysing the problem as if it were a medical condition. As it stood he'd be reliant on Tura-treatments to keep the 'symptom' in check, but how often would he need his head sorting out? and more importantly how willing would the Tura be to continue coddling him. There was a cure of course...a radical one.
"I prefer <Cough> <Cough> to choose my own path" He said "Am I right in thinking that as long as I'm human I will feel this 'pull' in my head...and that inception to a different tribe will break the compulsion?"
(ooc the answer to the question is 'yes'....Indra and Tavis may be needed in this thread soon)

“Um…no,” Blithe looked down at Houseman, rather puzzled by his perception of the situation. “You of all people should be aware that the Tura do not incept people without their consent. But if you would like to be incepted I can take care of that now. It can be done without ceremony.”

Doc shook his head, irritated that the Turan medic had misunderstood him
"No,..<cough> not accusing you. The compulsion is a Vistari thing"
saying the other tribe's name set off another surge of yearning which Doc had to concentrate on supressing.
"Its quite evident to me <cough> that as long as I'm still human they'll have a hook pulling me too them. I WON'T let them win, I WON'T be treated like a sextoy. So..<cough> the way out is to chose a different tribe of my own free will."
"Don't look surprised. Every remaining human male has to have considered this decision. My guiding principle <cough>...has always been 'where as a doctor can I be most use? until now thats been with the remnant poulation. So...here's what I want...I want to see a representative of each tribe <cough> and I want them to to convince me that their need is greater than that of the others."

Blithe shook his head, “I’ll tell you right now that you’d be of most help here with the Tura because you are a doctor. Although if you want to speak to other tribes, good luck gathering them together in one place, especially if you wish to speak to leaders, I could bring in a Vistari…and I refuse to let the leader of the Rodrae into my hospital. I have no idea how to contact the Frag and I would have to speak to my hara about it.”
Blithe was of the opinion that Houseman was slightly insane in this quest and was likely to get himself incepted by the Rodrae, then he’d know what it felt like to be a sextoy, but he held his tongue. It wasn't his choice to make.

Selkie had been lurking outside the door for a while, but perked up when he heard the Vistari mentioned, he was in the right place. He knocked on the door and poked his head in, "Perhaps I can help." He walked into the room and gave a little bow, "Selkie har Vistari at your service."

Doc felt the compulsion surge back to full power, the presence of an actual Vistari triggering its pre-programmed response.
Unable to resist Doc, rolled off the bed knealing in front of the Vistari his head held at ankle level.
The loss of control terrified him, as did the fact that he was even given words to speak like some damn ventriloquest's dummy
"I am a bad human. I have trespassed upon Vistari Territory. I have triggered a brilliantly clever Magari created by the mighty Rehuna, Massasaugan Har Visturi, who's most puisient power compels me to seek inception from the first Vistari Har I meet." Doc said his voice sounding dead and zombie like.
Desperately Doc turned his eyes toward Tura, hoping he would see the pleading look as he struggled with this Magari thing that had taken control of his vocal chords.

Selkie laughed darkly, “Oh my someone got you bad, this is delightful! I have no idea what half the shit you just said meant, but it is lovely none the less!” He turned to Blithe, “Can I keep him?” He asked, a faint grin pulling at the corners of his lips, “His intelligence will be welcomed by the rest of my tribe, and personally I wouldn’t be averse to his groveling at my feet.”

Blithe scowled at the Vistari har, "No, you may not. You will respect his bizarre wishes and let him chose his own tribe." Blithe took Selkie firmly by the arm and lead him out of the room, "You can wait with me," he said, not trusting to leave the unknown har with Houseman.
Dragging Selkie with him he went to fetch one of his hara, sending then out to attempt and tack down a Frag har and a Rodrae, much to his displeasure. It was a waste if his time.
Finally he took Selkie back into Housman's room, "I've sent hara out looking for reps from the other tribe for your idea," he said shortly.

Once the Vistari had left the room Doc felt some measure of control return.
He shivered...such power...the Army didn't have a fucking clue what they were messing with.
A minute later the Tura return radiating disgust and annoyance whilst announcing that he had sent for the other tribal hara.
"Thank you Tiahaar" replied Doc "I know this looks like an insult to your hospitality..but it isn't. Mac tells me that the hippocratic oath is one of your laws. I take that law seriously. I have to go where I can do most good. And to do that I have to understand more about the tribes..more than any human has a right to know"
