Post by Blithe har Tura on Mar 20, 2006 16:05:05 GMT -5
Blithe quickly smothered his annoyance once he realized the human had picked up on it. A perceptive one, Blithe thought. Even though he hadn’t really been hiding his annoyance the young man had managed to pick up how deep it went.
“You do not have to make apologies to me Houseman, I should have expected someone with half a brain to request something similar sooner or later, especially with Mitexi’s rule of only incepting the willing still standing.”
Perhaps Lalo Kai had been right, maybe it was time to do away with that rule. The Tura could use another trained in the medical profession, and Blithe would have liked to incept Houseman himself, to see if his blood would amplify the doctor’s skills in healing.

Indra still had a bit of a limp, but he managed to enter the room without falling all over himself. "Somebody told me to be here?" he murmured and glanced around.
(went ahead and did that? anybody mind?)

(OOC- you are welcome Indra..We need now for a Frag to turn up)
Doc glanced up to see a har he recognised..the mysterious Indra, who'd been so reluctant to name his tribe.
The fear he'd felt when he'd first run into the young har seemed to be a distant memory now that he was confronted with the current situation.
"Tiahaar Indra <cough>, how's the leg?" said Doc with a wry smile "I don't suppose by any chance your tribal affiliation is a Frag or Roadrage?"

"Rodrae," he admitted with a shrug, "what's going on?" he looked around the room as if it would give him the answers he was looking for.

Selkie laughed at the doctor’s maiming of the Rodrae name. He refrained from mentioning how he agreed.
“Apparently,” He drawled, “this human is ensnared in a Vistari, my tribe, spell that compels him to us for inception. He’s willful and wants to decide his own tribe, hence the call for a hara from each tribe. Basically he’s dedicated.” Selkie walked towards Indra. “I am Selkie har Vistari,” he said with a sweet smile as he looked Indra over, “Pleased to meet you.”

Doc felt an artificial eagerness that seemed to insist that he move things forward whether or not the Frag tribe had a representative.
"Essentially the Vistari is correct, one of them laid some sort of mind-trap thats designed to bring them a supply of fresh humans. <cough> The only way out of the trap is for me to choose my own destiny. I asked the Tura to call a representative of each tribe to come here so that I could ask a simple question... <cough cough cough>" Doc paused for a moment regaining his breath, his radiation symptoms had become noticabley worse since the trap had redefined fis existance.
"The question is this..why should I join your tribe in preference to one of the others? what makes Rodrae better than Vistari or Tura better than Rodrae? You could say this is a competition, the one of you that makes the most convincing case will win a fresh human and doubtless look good in the eyes of your tribal leader."

He blinked and nodded before telling him dryly, "I guess the first thing I otta say we have going for us: we don't do that kinda stupid shit. We do all sorts of other kinds of stupid shit."

"Yes..I believe I've seen some of the Rodrae's 'stupid shit'. Writing the words Screw You in 6ft high letters made of human intestine was particularly imaginative." replied Doc with distaste "I can't say that your stupid shit..or his stupid shit...<Cough>.... are impressing me in a good way. What else can you tell me?"
In the privacy of his own mind Doc wondered ..Will I feel differently about the about the abuse of humans when I am one of them?

Blithe stood back and watched impassively. Indra’s reply amused him, and he smiled at the young har’s bluntness. Somewhere in the back of his mind he thought the boy looked familiar. Most likely he was to be incepted by the Tura and the Rodrae got a hold of him first. It wouldn’t have shocked him, the Rodrae incepted every male they came across. If he could help it he would not see Housemen incepted to their tribe

"We aren't exactly an endearing tribe," he shrugged and crossed his arms, "But that's what we are."

Doc glanced at each har in turn trying to get some sort of 'feel' for what they really thought about this.
If harish body-language was the same as that in humans, then Indra's folded arms indicated that he was feeling defensive....perhaps even embaressed...about the way his tribe behaved.
The unamed Tura, who was clearly of high status, managed to effect a Vulcan-like impassivity that was impossible to read. A slightly raised eyebrow seemed to be the extent of the emotion he was prepared to reveal.
Sub-consciously Doc had left looking at the Vistari until last, for fear of what the compulsion might do to him.
The exotically beautiful dark haired Vistari appeared to view his situation with callous amusement...It made Doc want to grab the boy by the throat and shake some sense into him.
closing his eyes for a moment to regain his composure he returned his attention to Indra
"To borrow from corporate-speak, where do you see the Rodrae in five years time? What do the Rodrae aspire to?"

Selkie didn't bother to hold back his laughter as the man asked Indra about where the Rodrae would be in five years, and what they would be doing.
"Same thing as always," he drawled, "Incept humans, have aruna as much as possible, and create chaos in their wake. They'll never change, delightful creatures that they are."

"And your lot are better are they? where will the Vistari be in five years?...when The Barrier has caused the supply of humans to dry up, along with the last of the food and the drinking water?" snapped Doc trying to use anger to blank out incideous emotions.

"We, or should I say the Vistari who are into such things, which is pretty much everyone but me, will have broken through the bloody barrier. If you haven't heard my tribe is obessive about knowledge and research. We have hara already working on it, if I recall correctly." Selkie gave the man a crooked grin, "Me, I just stand around and look pretty."

Doc couldn't help but be impressed despite the circumstances the Vistari actually had a worthy goal...and even shared his deep concerns about the Barrier.
It felt as if he'd found an almost exact match for his own needs..or had he? was the stupid compulsion that subtle?
"So you offer the oportunity to do research that will benefit everyone in Tacoma ..whilst looking dashingly handsome" said Doc
Doc blushed he hadn't meant to say the last bit. Trying to cover the slip he turned to the Tura. "And what of The Tura? what would my future hold with you?"
